Aviation Involvement
VSA Principal David Bonnar, a private pilot and FAA certified Advanced Ground Instructor, is an FAA certified Repairman - Light Sport AIrcraft (LSRM-A), with inspection and maintenance ratings, and an independent Rotax Maintenance Technician (iRMT). He is a former Commander and current member of the Fresno County Sheriff's Air Squadron, an EAA Young Eagles pilot, and is a Representative on the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam), whose mission is to improve the Nation's aviation safety record by conveying safety principles and practices through training, outreach, and education.

Principal Jean-Marie Bonnar is a certificated sport pilot, is a member of the Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots, an EAA Young Eagles pilot, and member of EAA Chapter 376. 

Both David & Jean-Marie have served as members of the ASTM Committee on Light Sport Aircraft, the international standards body for the manufacturing of light sport aircraft. This Committee addresses issues related to design, performance, quality acceptance tests, and safety monitoring for light sport aircraft (LSA).
